Not sure what you are looking at?
Plenty of faults get sorted on the phone in two minutes — a tripped breaker, a blown bulb, an isolator switched off by mistake. If it needs someone out, you will get an arrival time there and then.
How a call-out works
No surprises, start to finish
You call
I answer, ask a few questions, and give you an arrival time.
Made safe
First job on arrival is isolating the fault so the house is safe.
Properly tested
I find the cause with test gear, not guesswork, and explain it plainly.
Price agreed
You hear the price before I start. Most repairs are done the same visit.
Signed off
Tested, tidied up, and certified where the regulations call for it.
What counts as an emergency
Ring tonight, or wait until morning?
Honest answer, because nobody wants to pay an out-of-hours rate for something that can wait.
Ring now
Burning smell, smoke, sparks, a scorched or buzzing socket, water getting into electrics, or no power at all in the property.
Ring now if vulnerable
No heating or hot water in cold weather, or anyone in the house who relies on powered medical equipment.
Can wait for morning
One circuit out while the rest of the house works, an immersion heater down, or outside lights not working.
Try this first
Check whether neighbours have power — if the whole street is off it is the network operator, not your wiring, and they will be on it already.
